Courses: Introduction to Communication

Scholarship and Outside Activities: For many years, I was a print journalist (staff writer for the Duluth News-Tribune; stringer and freelance feature writer for The Washington Post; designer/editor, Anishinaabeg Today ; freelancer to various magazines). I'm a volunteer/board member of the Duluth NAACP and Minnesota Citizens Federation-Northeast. My primary interests are in critical thinking, tolerance, and clear, respectful communication - which can soften the thorny differences between us, whether we be from diverse cultures or from the same family . I have an M.A. in Speech Communication from UWS.
