UW-Superior's Accounting Major offers a broad business education that prepares students for careers in accounting and auditing. This is a comprehensive major that requires at least 67 semester credits to complete. No minor is required.
Required courses cover basic and advanced accounting and auditing topics, taxes, accounting for non-profit organizations, fraud examination, and accounting information systems. In addition, students take courses in computer information systems, economics, finance, business law, business statistics and communication.
Graduates are qualified to take the exams for Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Managerial Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor. Earning one or more of these certifications can improve your long-term career prospects.
