News and Events Details
University of Wisconsin-Superior professor Dr. Jerry Hembd recently attended the Creativity World Forum in Oklahoma City on Nov. 15-17 with 15 other Wisconsin delegates.
As an associate professor in the Department of Business and Economics, Hembd connected with others of similar interests. About 2,500 artists, business leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, policy makers, scientists, students and technology experts from 17 countries and 35 states participated in sessions and discussion.
Sessions were led by notables such as energy activist T. Boone Pickens, creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson and New York Times technology expert David Pogue. Discussion centered on ideas for creative solutions and successful practices in business, education and technology.
Wisconsin received recognition for its leadership in the field of creativity. The Wisconsin Task Force on Arts and Creativity in Education serves as a national model with public policy and community collaboration that strives to transform K-12 education to effectively prepare students for competition in a creative economy.
The Creativity World Forum is a project of the International Districts of Creativity.
