Fact Sheet Details

Teacher Education - Elementary

UW-Superior's Teacher Education Program offers an elementary education major that prepares students to obtain certification to teach pre-kindergarten through sixth grade (ages birth through age 12) or first through eighth grade (ages 6 through age 13/14).

Our Teacher Education Program offers a challenging curriculum, small class sizes, intensive interaction with faculty, and many opportunities to gain experience by working with children on campus, in classrooms, and as a student teacher or teaching intern. The program prepares students for licensure in Wisconsin, and the degree is acceptable in many other states.

UW-Superior has more than 100 years of experience in training teachers. Our Teacher Education Program enjoys an excellent reputation for quality and innovation. Our graduates are highly regarded by their employers, and many have won teaching awards at the district, state and national levels.

After earning their bachelor's degree, students can continue their education and professional growth throughout their careers with our high-quality graduate programs in reading, instruction, special education, counseling and educational administration.
