Current Position

Lecturer (50%) in the Health and Human Performance Department as of 2006. Ad hoc instructor at UWS from 1991-2005 in the HHP department.

Current responsibilities

Responsibilities include teaching Community and Environmental health courses, exercise labs, advising undergraduate students in the HHP department, assisting in professional development and maintaining UWS status as an international exam site for five health-related certifications through the American Council on Exercise (ACE).

Ms Rankila also works at St. Mary/Duluth Clinic as a licensed PTA specializing in sports medicine, orthopedic and manual therapy.

Ms Rankila is married with two kids, two dogs, and two cats.  She enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, fishing, reading mysteries and oil base painting.
