The UW-Superior Orchestra program is comprised of two orchestras, the Chamber Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra. Both groups perform throughout the year with multiple performances per semester combined.
The UW-Superior Chamber Orchestra is the principal performance ensemble of the University Orchestras. Under the direction of Dr. Erin Aldridge, the Chamber Orchestra specializes in performance of both traditional and new compositions for string orchestra, and is fast developing a reputation for innovative programming. The orchestra maintains an active annual performance schedule, which includes collaborating with the University Choirs and Opera Theatre program, and presenting the popular Music Department Concerto Competition. The Chamber Orchestra was featured in concert at the 2007 Wisconsin State Music Educators State Conference. In 2005 the Chamber Orchestra presented a concert tour in Brazil, and in the spring of 2008 will embark on a concert tour of China.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Chamber Orchestra or would like more information, please contact Dr. Erin Aldridge.
