University Recital Series memberships now on sale

Get memberships now for UW-Superior's University Recital Series, which features Erin Aldridge, Rick Erickson, Trillium and others.

The University Recital Series at the University of Wisconsin-Superior opens its 2012-2013 season with violinist Erin Aldridge and includes performances by the popular trio Trillium and noted organist Rick Erickson.

Presented by UW-Superior's Department of Music, the University Recital Series features a variety of talented soloists and small ensembles. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

University Recital Series memberships are now on sale for $50. For more information or to purchase a membership, call (715) 394-8115 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays.

Tickets for individual performances are sold at the door if seats are available. Individual tickets cost $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.

University Recital Series 2012-2013

September 18 -- Erin Aldridge, violin

This year's recital series opens with Dr. Erin Aldridge performing Bach sonatas and partitas without accompaniment.

Aldridge is associate professor of music at UW-Superior and concertmaster of the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra.

October 16 and Oct. 17 -- Rick Erickson, organ

Superior native and UW-Superior alumnus Rick Erickson performs works for organ. Erickson is cantor at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New York City.

Erickson will perform the same works both nights; two performances are scheduled to accommodate a larger audience. Ticket-holders should call the Music Department to reserve tickets for the performance they prefer to attend.

November 13 -- Trillium

The always popular piano trio Trillium features pianist Beth Gilbert, violinist Erin Aldridge and cellist Josh Aerie performing works of Scandinavian composers.

Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 820 Belknap St., in Superior.

January 29 - Greg Kehl Moore, saxophone

Dr. Greg Kehl Moore, director of jazz studies at UW-Superior, performs a tribute to Broadway, featuring vocalist Tanya Moore.

February 26 - Vicki Fingalson, soprano, and Jeffrey Madison, baritone

This popular duo uses their experience from orchestra and opera halls around the country create a memorable evening of music. They are accompanied by Dr. Beth Gilbert, professor at UW-Superior.

April 2 - Melanie Sever, flute, and Josh Aerie, cello

UW-Superior faculty musicians Melanie Sever, flute, and Josh Aerie, cello, perform with noted pianist and UW-Superior alumnus Alex Sandor.
