As an avid follower of the flute industry and flute making in general, Melanie Sever's interests have resulted in establishing and building relationships with flute and head joint makers from around the world. Her research-based article, "Head Hunting", has appeared in Fluit (Netherlands), Flote Aktuell (Germany), and www.flutefocus.com. The article provides essential information needed by flutists who are looking for a new head joint for their flute. She has been invited to lecture on this topic at the 2010 Adams Flute Festival in the Netherlands, the 2011 National Flute Association Annual Convention in Charlotte, NC and the 2012 British Flute Society Convention in Manchester, England.
