Role as Faculty
Dr. Bajjali is a Professor in the Department of Biology and Earth Sciences with 25 years experience in the field of hydrogeology and GIS applications in water resources. He has been involved in several groundwater studies in the USA, Canada, Jordan, and Oman.

Publications
1. Bajjali W (2008) Evaluation of groundwater in a three-aquifer system in the Ramtha area, Jordan: recharge mechanism, hydraulic relationship and geochemical evolution. Hydrogeology Journal, Vol. 16, Number 6: 1193-1205
2. Bajjali W and Al-Hadidi K (2006) Recharge origin, overexploitation, and sustainability of water resources in an arid area from the Azraq basin, Jordan: case study. Hydrology Research, Vol.37 (3), pp.277-292

Complete List of Publications

Research Interests
Hydrogeology, geochemistry, environmental isotope hydrology, and GIS applications. Dr. Bajjali research interest and publications have been involved with water resources issues dealing with groundwater flow system, contaminations, modeling, water quality, geo-chemistry, environmental isotope applications in hydrogeology, and GIS applications in water resources research, environmental related problems, planning and management. He has been project manager of environmental development projects in several public and private sector organizations in North America and the Middle East.

Research Opportunities for students
Students enrolled in GIS or geosciences courses have the opportunity to carry a real world project. The project is an important component of the course design. Students in each course complete class projects using real-world data, often for local businesses, government agencies, or ongoing research at the campus. Many students have been able to submit their projects and findings at professional conferences and undergraduate research symposia at UW-Superior and at other UW-System campuses.

Below is a list of current undergraduate research opportunities.
1. Groundwater in Wisconsin.
2. Newton Creek Water Quality Assessment, Superior, WI
3. Interdisciplinary Research in Ecology using GIS Technique and Hydrochemistry at Kimmes - Tobin, Douglas County, WI
