University of Wisconsin System Regent Mark Tyler spent part of Tuesday, Dec. 13, learning more about the work of the Lake Superior Research Institute during his tour of the UW-Superior campus.

Tyler, from Woodville, Wis., visited campus to familiarize himself with UW-Superior. He spent about an hour meeting with LSRI Director Mary Balcer to learn about the wide range of environmental research and education its scientists perform around the Great Lakes. He also toured several LSRI labs in Barstow Hall and the ballast water treatment test facility on the city's waterfront.
