Joel Sipress is a Professor of U.S. and Latin American History. He received his Ph.D. in U.S. History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1993. His scholarly interests include the History of the American South, Labor History, and Race and Ethnicity. He currently serves as Chair of the Department of Social Inquiry.
