UW-Superior was recognized during the 2004-2005 and the 2005-2006 academic years by the Wisconsin PK-16 Leadership Council and received its Goals 2000 and Beyond Award as a "Promising Practice" for the professional development school relationship arising from the collaboration between its Teacher Education Department and the Superior School District.  The faculty of the Teacher Education Department are continually focused on presenting and modeling quality teaching skills and providing opportunities to students for authentic practice.

UW-Superior's Teacher Education Department offers an elementary education major that prepares students to obtain certification to teach pre-kindergarten through sixth grade or first through eighth grade.

Teacher Education - Secondary Education PDF Printable Version

UW-Superior's Teacher Education Department offers a secondary education certification program that prepares students to teach middle school and high school in subjects such as biology, chemistry, physical education, health, psychology, German, Spanish, computer science, mathematics, music, art, political science, history and sociology. Students also can use this program to prepare to teach pupils from early childhood through the adolescent level in the special areas of physical education, art and music.
