I've taught writing at the college level for ten years, and last year, I earned my PhD from the University of Rhode Island, where I studied writing pedagogy and rhetorical theory. My dissertation project focused on how women use writing in housework, a topic for which I have a strange affinity. I have also worked as a professional grant writer for a small law enforcement agency in my home state of Massachusetts. When I'm not teaching or reading students' writing (which I love to do), I'm running, reading food and home-improvement blogs, and hanging out with my husband and daughters.
