I hold a B.A. in Professional Writing from Bethel College and an M.A. in Writing with an emphasis in Creative Nonfiction from Illinois State University. I was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota, and although I love the beauty of this area-the lake, the North Shore, the state parks, etc.-I also love to travel. In fact, I spent more than two years teaching English in Japan shortly after college graduation. In my free time these days, I enjoy camping with my family, baking (and eating!) sweets, and working with children. My husband, Mark, is a State Trooper, and we have two boys: Noah, age nine, and Adam, age four. I have a great love for the written word, and some of my favorite works are Wuthering Heights, Tess of the d'Urbervilles, The Great Gatsby, and Holy the Firm.
