Ed and Amy Greve Library Science Scholarships

The Ed and Amy Greve Library Science Scholarships are competitive scholarships that are awarded annually in the Spring of each year. The scholarships are intended to help students to pursue a minor or certification in Library Science at UW-Superior. There are two types of scholarships:

Library Science Minor Scholarships

Eligible candidates will:

  • Be seeking a degree at UW-Superior  in the following academic year
  • Have declared their intent to pursue a Library Science Minor in addition to their
    UW-Superior degree
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or above

Scholarships are awarded for $1,500.00 each

Certification Scholarships

Eligible candidates will:

  • Be attending UW-Superior in the following academic year or in the summer
  • Be attending UW-Superior primarily to attain or upgrade their School Library Science Certification
  • Not be students who are eligible for the Library Science Minor Scholarship
  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or above

Scholarships awarded for $500.00 each

The Library Science Program reserves the right not to award any scholarships in any
given year. Questions should be addressed to the Chair of the Library Science

Procedures

Applications are due on or before Wednesday, April 11, 2012 and should be submitted to:

Applicants should provide the Library Science Program with the following information:

  1. Filled out Library Science application form (attached--open, print, and fill out) and the UWS application form.

  2. Two (2) brief essays covering each of the following areas:

    1. Your library work experience

    2. Your career goals as related to library science

  3. Two (2) letters of recommendation (from persons not on the UW-Superior Library Science faculty) to support your scholarship application.
