UW-Superior joins the bandwagon and performs the Harlem Shake at halftime of the Yellowjacket Women's Basketball play-off game.
On Wednesday, February 20th, UW-Superior experienced a once in a lifetime event. The UW-Superior Women's Basketball team hosted a WIAC Play-Off game. Not only was holding a Women's Basketball play-off game a first for UW-Superior but so was the halftime entertainment.
As the Yellowjackets battled UW-River Falls, UW-Superior students as well as the Superior community prepared for our very own version of the Harlem Shake, nicknamed the Superior Shake.
As the game battled on, and the Yellowjackets pulled ahead into a big victory. Volunteers videotaped and edited a version of the Harlem Shake that will never be forgotten as crazed fans bombarded the gym floor for a piece of the shake action.
Overall the Women's Basketball team won a huge victory and UW-Superior saw their biggest basketball crowd to date.
A big thanks goes out to the Athletic Department for allowing the Superior Shake to happen on the court floor at halftime, Jack Hajewski and Tyler Kronstedt for filming and editing, and the UW-Superior as well as Superior community for participating.
