Broad Field Science

Broad Field Science  is a comprehensive liberal arts major. It is open to everyone, but generally is used by students planning to pursue a career in teaching science at the high school level. It includes course work in Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science and Physics. Students who plan to become teachers must also complete the Wisconsin teacher certification requirements through the university's Teacher Education Department.

Program features:

 ·        The major enables students to individualize their program by  choosing two of four areas in which to specialize: biology, chemistry, Earth science or physics.

Career Outlook:
Many teaching jobs are expected to open across the country as older teachers retire. Some states, such as California, Texas and Florida, already are facing teacher shortages.
