Theatre
Printable version of this fact sheetOur active and respected Theatre program offers hands-on opportunities in performing, producing and directing along with technical work in set construction, sound and lighting. Theatre is offered through the university's Communicating Arts Department. Students majoring in Theatre can earn a bachelor's degree.
University Theatre generally presents three mainstage productions a year. Students also produce and act in one-act plays each year as part of their coursework.
University Theatre is located in Holden Fine and Applied Arts Center, which includes two theatres, a scene workshop, costume shop, box office and classrooms. Because of UW-Superior's size, students have more opportunities to perform, direct, build and produce than at larger schools. Students also are able to get involved in productions as soon as they arrive on campus, giving them more time to gain experience and confidence.
