I would like to be a high school counselor so I can help students with their future career plans. I have developed quite a passion for helping students deal with the social stresses that come from school and watching them succeed is even better!
I knew that as soon as visited campus and spoke with an Admissions counselor that I was hooked! It was like a 'light bulb' turned on telling me that this is where you are meant to be. I am close to home, involved in a incredibly active campus community, and I get a 'private school' education with a 'public school' price tag… you cannot beat that!
What ISN'T great about UWS?! I think what makes UWS great is that the students have many opportunities to make their own choices: what classes to take, what to get involved in on campus, and even have an on campus job with great flexibility. The only way to be bored on campus is if you don't have a 'pulse'.
The classes are amazing, they are not like your normal lecture classes where you sit and take notes all hour. You get to be an active participant and will always have one on one time with your professor to get the help that you need. A Liberal Arts education provides you with the ability to be a well-rounded individual by thinking critically and being an effective communicator in all areas. At UW-Superior, you will not only excel in your given field, but you will excel at life in general.
The best place to study for me would have to be where it's so quite you can hear a pin drop. The Jim Dan Hill library is perfect for me to get the quiet I need and also have a relaxing atmosphere to be in a prime studying mood.
I really enjoy doing campus tours with prospective students. It is cool to see high school students that are excite about going to college. If you are planning on taking a campus visit soon, be sure to ask for me!
You will most likely find me playing Ping Pong at the new YellowJacket Union or just having a random conversation with a friend or professor while walking around campus. Even though I may be constantly on the move, people tend to know exactly where I am at when I am talking… I have yet to determine if this is a good thing or not.
Any Sociology class with Dr. Ball as the professor! His gets everyone involved and it can make for a very humorous lecture while getting a lot out of the class. His classes are the only ones that I can get away with my jokes that are probably only funny to me. For this reason, I have decided to go to college for a degree in Psychology and to not pursue a future career as a comedian.
After moving off campus this year, I have regretted leaving the Resident Halls. It is so much more convenient to be able to walk 5 minutes to a class and it is a heck of a lot cheaper to live there as well. It is also a good way to make new friends and just have a good time!
Going sledding on one of the golf course hills back home in Virginia. It does not matter how old I get, I still love flying down a hill in a toboggan!!
Definitely the Super Bowl tickets especially if Green Bay is in it! Now, I would probably go even if the Vikings went, since Brett Favre is the best quarterback of all time. However without Favre I would sell those tickets to make a few quick bucks.
