AGREEMENT FOR TRANSFER BETWEEN
Central Lakes College
AND THE
University of Wisconsin-Superior

  1. Central Lakes College, Brainerd, Minnesota, was created as an independent campus of the Minnesota Community College system. Central Lakes College has full accreditation status with the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. In the interest of fostering cooperation between our institutions, to better serve the transfer of students form Central Lakes College to the University of Wisconsin-Superior, hereby enter into this articulation agreement.
  2. The following articles delineate the understanding between Central Lakes College and the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
    1. Students will be encouraged to complete the Associate of Arts degree at Central Lakes College which fulfill the UW-Superior lower division general education requirements as long as campus specific stipulations are met. Those stipulations are expressed in terms of the UW-Superior 1996-98 catalog and the 1995-97 Central Lakes College catalog.
      1. Completion with a C or better grade in English 110 and 111 at Central lakes College which is equivalent to UW-Superior’s English 101 and 102 (Teacher Certification grade of C).
      2. Completion of Math 157 or a higher level math course at Central Lakes College which is equivalent to UW-Superior’s Math 104 or higher level course.
      3. Completion of Speech at Central Lakes College which is equivalent to UW-Superior’s Communicating Arts 110. (Teacher Certification grade of C).
      4. The general agreement refers to all Associate of Arts degrees except non-college parallel technical programs.
    1. Students who graduated from Central Lakes College in the spring term of 1996 are subject to the provisions of this articulation agreement between the University of Wisconsin-Superior and Central Lakes College.
    2. Transferring Central Lakes College students will be treated as though they had beenat UW-Superior as freshman and will be given the same priorities and advantages as residential students providing they have met the Associate of Arts degree at Central Lakes College excluding non-transferable technical programs.
    3. Representatives of Central Lakes College and the University of Wisconsin-Superior will explore the development of program-to-program articulation agreements including Associate of Science and Applied Science degrees.
    4. Both institutions agree to monitor the progress of the agreement, evaluate its effectivness, and to make suggestions to modify this agreement.
