
AGREEMENT FOR TRANSFER BETWEEN
Northland Community College
AND THE
University of Wisconsin-Superior
- Northland Community College, Thief River
Falls, Minnesota, was created as an independent campus of the Minnesota
Community College system. Northland Community College has full accreditation
status with the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
In the interest of fostering cooperation between our institutions, to better
serve the transfer of students from Northland Community College to the
University of Wisconsin-Superior, hereby enter into this articulation
agreement.
- The following articles delineate the
understanding between Northland Community College and the University of
Wisconsin-Superior.
Students will be encouraged to complete
the Associate of Arts degree at Northland Community College which
fulfill the UW-Superior lower division general education requirements as
long as campus specific stipulations are met. Those stipulations are
outlined in the 1996-98 UW-Superior catalog and the 1994-95 Northland
Community College catalog.
- Completion with C or better grade
in English 111, 112 and 113 at Northland Community College which is
equivalent to UW-Superior’s English 101 and 102. (If the student is
seeking Teacher Certification, a grade of C or better is required).
- Completion of Math 109 or a higher
lever math course at Northland Community College which is equivalent
to UW-Superior’s Math 104 or higher level course.
- Completion of Speech 101 at
Northland Community College which is equivalent to UW-Superior’s
Communicating Arts 110. ( If the student is seeking Teacher
certification, a grade of C or better is required).
- The general agreement refers to all
Associate of Arts degrees except non-college parallel technical
programs.
- Students who graduated from Northland
Community College in the spring of 1996 or after are subject to the
provisions of this articulation agreement between the University of
Wisconsin-Superior and Northland Community College.
- Transferring Northland Community
College students will be treated as though they had been at UW-Superior
as freshman and will be given the same priorities and advantages as
residential students providing they have met the Associate of Arts
degree at Northland Community College excluding non-transferable
technical programs.
- Both institutions agree to monitor the
progress of the agreement, evaluate its effectiveness, and make
suggestions to modify this agreement.
