Gary Fritch

Gary Fritch of Duluth, Minnesota, was an outstanding athlete and leader in hockey and baseball during his years of competition at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.

Mr. Fritch was a member of the Yellowjacket hockey team from 1973 to 1976. He was co-captain of the team that won the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics national championship in 1976, and was named to the All-Tournament Team. He was named All-Conference and All-American on defense in 1974, 1975 and 1976.

In baseball, Mr. Fritch was captain of the 1976 team that shared the division championship. He was named All-District and All-Conference in 1975, and All-Conference in 1976.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1976, he was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers. Since 1977 he has coached youth hockey, softball and basketball. He also served as co-commissioner of Duluth's East End Basketball League from 1993 to 1998.
