UW-Superior Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

At ceremonies July 19, UW-Superior inducted seven individuals and one team into the UW-Superior Hall of Fame

The inductees are:

David Graichen, Class of 1997, of Weston, Conn.
Frances "Fran" Mrozinski, Class of 1977, of Roy, Wash.
The late Arthur "Art" Nelson, Class of 1963.
Tammy Nelson, Class of 1990, of Cloquet, Minn.
Elizabeth "Beth" Clark, Class of 1988, of Hermantown, Minn., will be inducted as recipient of the Mertz Mortorelli Coaching Achievement Award.
Dr. Janet Dufek, Class of 1981, of Henderson, Nevada, will be inducted as recipient of the Lydia Thering Meritorious Service Award.
Brian "Scotty" Thomson of Superior, Wis., will be inducted as recipient of the Carl Vergamini Contributions to Yellowjacket Athletics Award.
The 1996-1997 Men's Hockey Team.

Induction into the Hall of Fame is an honor bestowed upon individuals and team members who demonstrated outstanding skill and dedication as Yellowjacket student athletes. In addition, individual inductees are recognized for outstanding career achievement in coaching; exceptional contributions in furthering fitness, health and wellness; and substantial contributions to supporting and promoting Yellowjacket athletics. Chancellor Julius Erlenbach welcomes the inductees and their families to campus.	A new twist this year was that we held the banquet in Mortorelli Gym.	UW-Superior Athletic Director Steve Nelson opens the evening by addressing the inductees.	Master of Ceremonies Julie Moravchik, Class of '94, introduced the inductees and speakers. Julie is new director at KQDS TV in Duluth.

Attending the ceremony were many members of the 1996-'97 men's hockey team, which was inducted in the team category.	Family members of the late Art Nelson, Class of ’63, were on hand along with Bill Scoble, Class of ’62, second from right, a basketball teammate of Art's and the person who nominated him for induction.	Members of the Phi Sigs were in attendance.
Retired faculty member Dr. Roger Prescott with Alumni Association board member Andre Henley, Class of ‘99.	UW-Superior Foundation board member Sandra Gregory, Class of ‘77; Christina Kienitz; Alumni Association board member Paul Kienitz, Class of ‘79; and Alumni Association president Jerry Pickar, Class of ‘89.
