Dave Anderson, who graduated from UW-Superior in 1978, has been named Congressman-elect Sean Duffy's district director for Wisconsin's 7th Congressional District.
"I'm really excited about the chance to come home to the 7th Congressional District of Wisconsin," Anderson said. "It's the district where I've lived most of my life. It's where I went to college, where my wife and I raised our children in Wausau, and to have a chance to do this for a rising star in the House of Representatives is a real opportunity for me. I've known Sean Duffy for some time and I really respect him. Having a chance to work for him in the district I know best in Wisconsin is really a thrill."
Duffy announced Anderson's new job on Dec. 16. District directors are the primary contact for district residents and manage day-to-day operations.
At UW-Superior, Anderson majored in political science, social studies and German. After graduating he taught for several years and served in local government. Since 1985 he's worked for U.S. Sen. Robert Kasten, Gov. Tommy Thompson, Gov. Scott McCallum and U.S. Rep. Tom Petri.
Anderson will return to the Wausau area. He lived in Wausau for more than 20 years and is leaving his current position as district director for 6th Congressional District Rep. Petri.
