Alumnus publishes latest book about Coast Guard

The latest book by Tom Ostrom, Class of '61, MS '66, is now on bookshelves.

"The United States Coast Guard and National Defense" examines the role the Coast Guard has played at home and abroad from its earliest days to present. It is published by McFarland and Company Inc.

Tom was a member of the Coast Guard Reserve from 1961 to 1969. He's now retired after many years of teaching at Rochester Community College in Minnesota. He's written several books about the Coast Guard.
