John Taylor, Class of 1961, this spring will be inducted into the Rib Lake School District Hall of Fame in recognition of his lifetime accomplishments.

Taylor graduated from the Wisconsin high school in 1957. At Superior he majored in business administration and earned his Air Force commission through ROTC.

He served in the Air Force for 27 years, retiring in 1988 at the rank of colonel. During his career he specialized in meteorology and commanded the largest weather wing in the Air Force, where he was in charge of 800 people at nearly 50 bases.

Taylor now lives in Nebraska. Since retiring he has been active in his local Habitat for Humanity chapter. In 2009 the organization named him the Volunteer of the Year in his county.

Taylor's induction ceremony in Rib Lake is set for May 10.
