Jason Young has joined the University of Wisconsin-Superior as major gifts officer in the University Advancement Office.

"We are excited to have Jason joining our University Advancement team.  His experience and relationships within the Twin Ports area will help us in our ongoing efforts to connect alumni, friends and business communities to UW-Superior," said Vice Chancellor of University Advancement Jeanne Thompson.

A native of Duluth, Young served eight years in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. He earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth.

Young's professional experience includes working for Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake, Wis., where he developed and implemented community wellness programs and created individualized wellness plans for members of its Health and Wellness Center.

More recently, he worked for the Northern Star Council, Boy Scouts of America, where he expanded the organization's membership and finances. He accepted a promotion to the Voyageurs Area Council in Hermantown, Minn., where he served communities in southern Saint Louis, Lake, Cook and Douglas counties.  He helped the Voyageurs Area Council grow in several areas, including finance, membership and programming.
