Annual Donor Recognition Luncheon
Sept. 28, 2007
Rothwell Student Center

UW-Superior, the UW-Superior Foundation, the UW-Superior Alumni Association, and Campaign Superior: Higher Expectations presented the Annual Donor Recognition Luncheon on Sept. 28, 2007, to honor the people who give gifts to the university and its students, and who volunteer their time to lead gift-giving programs. Thanks to their generosity, Campaign Superior is more than halfway to its goal of raising $17.5 million. This year more than 300 students received scholarships funded by gifts to Campaign Superior and the UW-Superior Foundation; and many of those students were on hand at the luncheon to thank donors personally.

This year, Assistant Chancellor Jill Schoer announced that a donor has issued a $500,000 challenge grant to alumni and friends of the university. In addition,

Dr. Renee Reijo Pera, a leading scientist in the field of human infertility, was named Distinguished Alumna for 2007 by the University of Wisconsin-Superior Alumni Association. Dr. Reijo Pera, a native of Iron River, Wis., graduated from UW-Superior in 1983 with a major in biology. She is now director of the Center for Human Embryo Development and Stem Cell Research at Stanford University School of Medicine.
