Head Coach Eddy Morgan enters his 2nd year at the University of Wisconsin-Superior with great optimism. Morgan’s 2007-2008 recruiting class, his first, saw twenty-two new players enter the program, which included four Minnesota All-State players and several highly touted Junior College transfers.
Prior to his arrival at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, the Hermantown, MN native spent nine seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at The College of St. Scholastica. The 33 year-old head coach has high expectations for the program which plays in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, one of the top NCAA DIII baseball leagues in the country. “I expect we will compete at a high level and we are taking huge steps to turning this program into one of the elite in the upper Midwest,” Morgan said. “We will be successful because we recruit student-athletes who want excellence in the classroom and on the field,” Morgan said. “The university and alumni our behind the program and I look forward to the challenge ahead of us.”
Morgan inherited a program that went 3-35 overall and 0-24 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in the 2005-2006 season. In his first year he helped bring the Yellowjackets to a 9-30 record. The Yellowjackets were 8-7 in the non-conference schedule which included big wins over Western Connecticut State, Waldorf College, and Concordia University.
Morgan’s assistant duties at The College of St. Scholastica included his work as the team’s recruiting coordinator, during a period in which the Saints were often ranked near the top of the nation in NCAA Division III baseball. While at St. Scholastica, Morgan became known as one of the top young assistant coaches in the country. Morgan also was head coach for the Duluth Lakeview American Legion team for 8 years, in which his teams reached state tournament competition four times and developed the program into one of the elite American Legion programs in Minnesota.
As a student athlete, Morgan had a solid playing career as a middle infielder at St. Scholastica, while earning a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Arts/Sciences. He is currently completing his thesis for his Masters Degree in Management.
Morgan is described by his players as, “prepared, enthusiastic, and a competitor. He coaches both pitchers and middle infielders and all other aspects of the program. Athletic Director Steve Nelson said, “He [Morgan] brings a wealth of coaching experience to our baseball program, and will build the necessary foundation to compete and win in the always tough WIAC.”
Morgan also works in the universities admissions department as an Admissions Recruiter. Morgan currently resides in Duluth, MN with his wife Jessica and 1 year old son, Isaac.
Assistant Coach Luke Olin

Luke Olin is entering his 2nd year as an assistant baseball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Olin graduated from the The College of St. Scholastica with a bachelor’s degree in Management, where he also played four years of varsity baseball.Olin’s career ended with his highest accomplishment of being named an ABCA All-American third-baseman in 2006.
Coach Morgan and Olin have been on the field together since the summer of 2000 with Olin playing under Coach Morgan on the Duluth Lakeview American Legion team, and four years to follow at St. Scholastica. “Luke is one of the best young hitting instructors in the country. His work ethic is what made him an All-American and he has continued that level of effort with his approach to hitting,” Morgan said. Olin is described by his players as, “hard working and fun to be around.”
Luke’s duties include hitting instruction, outfield position coach, and the coordinator of baseball operations. He is also an Admissions Recruiter for the university. Luke is single and resides in Duluth, MN.
Assistant Coach Nick Garramone

Nick is entering his 2nd season as an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator for the Yellowjackets. He graduated in 2003 from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a Physical Education Liberal Arts Degree and a double minor in Coaching and Sport Psychology. He played 4 years of varsity baseball while at UW-Superior.
Following his playing career, he has assisted at Duluth Denfeld and Proctor High Schools for 4 seasons and also worked as an American Legion coach with the West Duluth Cubs and Proctor American Legion teams. He was manager of the Bayside Vipers amateur baseball club from 2002-2006. Nick led Bayside to their first Upper 13 League title in 2006. He was also named the Upper 13 All-Star Manager in 2004 and 2005.
“Nick will be a great head coach in the future. He is an outstanding recruiter and he has a great passion for the student-athlete,” Morgan said. Garramone is described by his players as, “passionate, knowledgeable, and easy going.”
Nick’s duties include recruiting and catchers position coach. He is currently working toward a Masters Degree in Community Counseling. Nick is single and resides in Superior, WI.
Assistant Coach Jason Polikowsky

Jason Polikowsky is entering his first year as an assistant baseball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. After a four year career as a player, of which two of them as team captain, Jason is looking forward to making the transition to coaching. While playing at UWS, Jason was team MVP in the 2006 and 2007 seasons, and also Gold Glove recipient in the 2006 season. He also received the Mertz Mortorelli Award for most dedicated male athlete on campus in 2006.
Polikowsky had the privilege of playing under Coach Morgan his senior year and is looking forward to starting a new chapter with him and assisting him in bringing UWS baseball to the top of the WIAC.
Jason will be working with the Yellowjacket corner infielders as well as assist in hitting instruction. “Jason now has complete understanding of our system and will be able to bring a lot of his experience as a player to assist our younger players,” Morgan said. Polikowsky is described by his players as, “intense and tough.”
Polikowsky is also currently obtaining his bachelors degree in accounting from UWS. Jason is single and resides in Superior, WI.
