Seth Neumann (So.-Eagle River, WI) led the men's cross country team for the third straight week at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, which was hosted by the University of Minnesota.
Neumann went out hard at the start of the race and hung on to finish in a time of 28:30, which was 1:30 faster than he ran last year on the same course.
Taylor Gombos (So.-St. Cloud, MN) had his best race of the season and was second on the team in a seasonal best time of 28:55, which was 1:10 faster than he ran at the Griak last year.
Scott Eisenach (Sr.-Hermantown, MN) was third on the team in 29:11, but his time was a whopping 2:29 faster than his performance at the Griak meet last year.
Ed Hirsch (Sr.-Skokie, IL) was fourth on the team in 29:59, and his time was 32 seconds faster than his Griak race last year.
William Hermanson (Fr.-Richfield, MN) was fifth on the team in his first collegiate Griak race in 30:28 and helped cover for Jordan Peterson (Fr.-Duluth, MN/Denfeld) who for the first half of the race was the third Yellowjacket on the team, but was forced to dropped out of the race at the 5k mark due to a slight injury.
Chad Kucza (Fr.-Hermantown, MN) ran a seasonal time best of 32:22 as did John Koepp (Jr.-Lake Nebagamon, WI) in 34:37.
The men's team will compete again on Saturday, October 11th at the Pine Hill Invitational, which will be hosted by the University of Minnesota Duluth in Carlton, MN.
