Kramer's time of 1:51.29 also established a new school record in the event, which he set last year at the national meet.

Kramer's effort also earned him his 3rd All-American award outdoors for the 800 meters, to go along with the All- American award he won this year at the indoor national championships, where he also finished as the runner up in the event.

Kramer was in excellent position the entire race, but was unable to catch Emmanuel Bofa from Whitworth University down the homestretch, as Bofa held on for the victory with a time of 1:51.01.
