The Yellowjackets took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning when Brady Rix (Sr. Kelowna, BC) drove home Jen Parchem (Jr. Baraboo, WI) with an RBI single.

Unfortunately for Superior, Stout responded with a five runs on three hits and four walks in the fifth inning to push the score to 6-2.

Superior cut the lead to 6-4 in the sixth inning when Brooke Bailey (Sr. Superior, WI) tripled home Ashley Martin (Fr. Superior, WI) and Parchem but the Jackets would get no closer.

Kristy Hoffman earned the win on the mound for Stout while teammate Laura Vanderhoof relieved her in the sixth inning and earned the save.

Sarah Henk (Fr. White Bear Lake, MN) took the loss for the Yellowjackets.

Another five run inning hurt Superior in game two as Stout jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first on four hits and two errors.

After Stout added another run in the fourth the Yellowjackets got on the board after Martin led off the inning with a single that scooted by the left fielder. This allowed Martin to scamper into third base.

After Jen Parchem was intentionally walked, Brooke Bailey singled sharply to right field to play Martin and cut the Bleu Devil's lead to 6-1.

Stout came back with two runs of their own in the fifth to increase their lead to 8-1 off of reliever Brittany Bloedorn (So. Lodi, WI).

In their half of the fifth the Jackets added two runs of their own. Chelsey Jarzin (Fr. Superior, WI) started the inning with an infield hit. She scored on a booming double by Melissa Kunzelman (Jr. Brandon, MB) to cut the lead to 8-2.

Kunzelman scored on a hit by Martin and Superior looked to be clawing their way back into the game.

Three more runs by the Blue Devils in the sixth inning squelched any thoughts of a Superior comeback.

Vanderhoof earned the win for Stout while Tara Kimberly (Fr. Baldwin, WI) took the loss for Superior.

The Yellowjackets continue their homestand with doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday versus UW-La Crosse (2:00 and 4:00) and UW-Platteville (12:00 and 2:00).
