Additional Information for Tuition and Segregated Fees

A complete listing of segregated fees and a breakout of allocable segregated fees vs. non-allocable segregated fees is available on the Budget Office website.

Attention Minnesota Residents

All Minnesota resident students, graduate and undergraduate, must apply for and receive reciprocity with the Minnesota Higher Education Services Office to receive reciprocity tuition rates. Students can apply by phone at (800) 657-3866 or online at http://www.getreadyforcollege.org. Students who do not qualify for reciprocity with the Minnesota Higher Education Services Office will pay non-resident tuition rates.

Auditing Classes - Credit Fee Policy

  1. Wisconsin residents age 60 or older (as of the first day of classes) will not pay tuition. All other seniors citizens will pay a percentage of the per credit fee based on residency.
  2. Disabled Wisconsin residents who are receiving disability benefits under either Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program or federal Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program will not pay fees.
  3. Students taking courses for credit who are also auditing a course will pay full fees, just as if all courses were for credit. For example, a student who is taking two 3-credit courses for credit and auditing another 3-credit course will pay the fees for 9 credits, including segregated fees.
  4. Audit only students have the option to pay for segregsated fees if access to segregated fee funded services are desired. If segregated fees are not paid, access for audit only students is limited to the library and non-segregated fee funded activities of the student center.
  5. Audit only students will pay a percentage of the per credit fee based on residency:
    1. Wisconsin residents under age 60 pay 30% of incidental fees (rounded).
    2. Nonresidents pay 50% of incidental fees and nonresident tuition (rounded).
    3. Minnesota residents pay 30% of incidental fees and reciprocity fee (rounded). Minnesota residents must apply for and receive reciprocity from the State of Minnesota. If they do not receive reciprocity, they will be considered the same as nonresidents and will pay according to that schedule.
