UW Superior's accounting system is built around fund appropriations, department codes, activity codes, and four digit revenue and expense codes.  A "cost center" consists of a three digit fund code, a six digit department code, and a one digit activity code.  Transactions are posted to a cost center and are classified as a revenue or expense item by using a four digit code.
