Rescheduled! Day of Service and Celebration

When: Jan 28, 2013 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Help carry on the legacy by volunteering to help on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and Celebration.

This event has been rescheduled for January 28th.

We need YOU to help us honor

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Day of Service and Celebration

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is:
What are you doing for others?"
- Dr. King

Celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on

Monday January 28th

Read to children at Northern Lights Elementary

1201 N. 28th Street, Superior, WI 54880

Can you take 30 minutes to read to children?

Get involved in the community while doing service for others!

  • Dr. King is a symbol, in America, of justice, fairness and equality.
  • Locally, a prevalent inequality that exists is the early childhood literacy gap.
  • Too many children in Douglas County and nationwide are not proficient in reading at their grade level by, or before, third grade...

...the good news is you can help!

If you're interested in volunteering or for more information, contact

Katelyn Baumann at kbauman3@uwsuper.edu with:

  •          Your name
  •          Your availability from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

(Closer to the date, we will match you with a 30-minute time slot)

All community members are invited to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. and the art and essay competition winners from Northern Lights Elementary. Join us at 1:30 p.m. at Northern Lights Elementary.
