382 Elementary Music Methods (3) Study of purpose, objectives, techniques, and materials for teaching general music in grades K-6. Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program. F10

383 Teaching Music in the Elementary School (2) Provides the prospective elementary classroom teacher with a methodology for teaching elementary music and familiarization with current music materials and equipment. Emphasizes the relationship of the classroom teacher with the music specialist. Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program and MUSI 170. S11, S12

384 Secondary Choral Techniques and Literature (2) A study of the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully manage and teach a secondary choral program. Study of rehearsal technique and management issues is combined with examination of choral literature and performance practice. Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program; MUSI 380. S11

385 Instrumental Methods (2) Curriculum, materials, organization, conducting, and administration of instrumental music for the upper elementary grades and the secondary school. Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program. F11

386 Secondary General Music Methods (2) Procedures used to organize, administer, and teach general music at the secondary level. Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program. S11

388 High School Band and Orchestra Literature (2) Survey of high school band and orchestra literature with emphasis on rehearsal problems, difficulties for individual instruments, and conducting problems. Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program. S11
