The Department of Public Safety, is committed to protecting the safety and security of the university and the campus community by providing 24-hour campus security, responding to disturbances and accidents, developing crime awareness programs, patrolling campus buildings and grounds and providing related services.

The department is staffed by full-time police and security officers.
