Minor
Twenty-one credits in Physics courses are required, including two semesters of calculus-based physics. This requirement may be met either through PHYS 201-202 or PHYS 205-206. Two other possible combinations will also satisfy the minor requirements: PHYS 205 and PHYS 202 or PHYS 201and PHYS 206. PHYS 205-206 are short courses which deal with calculus applications not covered in PHYS 107-108, with PHYS 107-108 being prerequisites. PHYS 100, PHYS 160, PHYS 300 and PHYS 339 will not satisfy the requirements for the minor. Five credits of Physics courses may be replaced by CHEM 345/347, which have a prerequisite of CHEM 105/106. CHEM 105/106 does not count toward the Physics minor.

Secondary School Teacher Certification
A teacher recommended for certification to teach Physics by the University of Wisconsin-Superior must have a major or minor in Physics. All teachers also must meet the Professional Education Requirements offered by the Teacher Education Department and must have a course in the history and philosophy of science as well.
