Congrats to the First CTL Graduate

John Rautio, CTL

John Rautio worked in the transportation industry for four years and was looking for an educational program that would help him develop greater expertise. Living in Iron River, Wisconsin, he needed to continue to work full-time and he was too far away from a college campus to make commuting a viable option. He needed something online. Then he discovered the University of Wisconsin-Superior's Continuing Education Certified in Transportation and Logistics (CTL) Online Program; it was just the ticket!

In May, John completed his sixth and final module in the program to become the first to graduate from UW-Superior's CTL Program. Now, John proudly displays the CTL credential after his name.

"It's great to have the distinction of being the first grad! I consider it one of the major achievements in my life", said John. "Having been in the transportation industry for many years, I realized that I had the experience but not the educational background. UW-Superior's CTL Online Program allowed me to continue my career path while attaining the much needed, and sought after, educational knowledge."

The CTL Online Program launched in partnership with ASTL in November 2012 under the guidance of Dr. Richard Stewart, CTL, and is the only noncredit program offered entirely online leading to the CTL credential. The UW-Superior CTL Online Program can be completed at your own pace and entirely online from the convenience of your home or office.

"Modules such as logistics management and transportation management allowed me to better understand the 'behind the scenes' work that goes on in moving products and providing services. It was fascinating!" said Rautio. "It was tough, but I would highly recommend this program to anyone!"
