Mission Statement

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) provides all educators with services, resources and support to foster meaningful student learning and quality teaching within a liberal arts tradition.

CETL's Key Themes:

  1. To foster dialogue on campus about teaching and learning issues;
  2. To foster inter-disciplinarity and "breaking down silos/building bridges";
  3. To enhance learning and instructional technology understanding and visability on the campus;
  4. To support educators developing self-reflective practice about teaching and learning;
  5. To provide opportunities for educators to learn about the institution, its mission and its teaching and learning practices;
  6. To support and grow a quality First Year Seminar (FYS) program.

Areas of Priority for CETL programs and projects:

  1. Coordination with UW System Office of Professional and Instructional Development (OPID) and the UW System Learning Technology Development Council (LTDC);
  2. Support for the integration of technologies for teaching and learning into campus courses and programs;
  3. Providing conference and learning opportunities for educators on the campus.
