First Year Seminar Program

The First Year Experience is designed to introduce first year students to the liberal arts through active and collaborative learning, critical thinking, and reflective judgment.

Each fall the First Year Seminars offer an exciting array of diverse topics that will both challenge and engage students.  For class offerings, view the First Year Seminar Brochure for Fall 2010 and the Fall 2010 Schedule for on-campus First Year Seminars  Link to http://www.uwsuper.edu/fye/courses/seminars/videos.cfm to view videos from previous years that provide examples of projects students were engaged in during their First Year Seminar  experience.

Be watching for a Spring 2011 First Year Seminar flyer that will provide the offerings for that semester.

The upcoming EXPO for the fall 2010 First Year Seminars will be held on Thursday December 9th, 2010, in the Yellowjacket Union ground level atrium from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Come and experience what the freshmen students have been learning this semester!

Proposals to teach First Year Seminars are accepted during December of each year for the following fall's semester.  See last year's form First Year Seminar Proposal for 2010 as an example.  The proposal form for 2011 First Year Seminars will be provided at this location next semester.
