When: May 1, 2014 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
The Spring 2014 First Year Seminar EXPOSITION in the Yellowjacket Union will be a student-driven affair and celebration of student learning.

Five FYS classes with about 80 first-year students will put together class booths as one of their collaborative activities built into every seminar. All campus and community members are invited to watch the students show off their work, learn about what other First Year Seminar classes have done, and have a culminating event for their first semester on campus.

The seminar program, as part of the First Year Experience and the other high impact practices (HIPs), is meant to engage new college students in a community of learners in which they recognize and embrace the value of their learning, move ahead in learning about new ideas and questioning previous thinking - think more broadly, openly, and globally - and also work together collaboratively in and outside of the classroom.

The EXPO celebrates this collaboration while recognizing their learning. For more details on this year's seminars, see the First Year Seminar home page.
