Proposals due to CETL by July 18 for Enhancement Day Aug 27 Breakout Sessions

Enhancement Day on August 27 will focus on "Exploring The Superior Plan," the new strategic plan for UW-Superior. All members of the campus community are invited to submit a proposal for a breakout session to CETL by noon on July 18, 2014.
The updated Superior Visions 2020 strategic plan builds on the strengths of the campus and moves us in innovative directions for the future. On June 18th, Maria Cuzzo sent out the initial Call for Proposals for Breakout Session Presentations. Requirements for submission of proposals are provided below, followed by an overview of the topics to be included for the day.
Requirements for submission:
Names, titles, email and telephone numbers of all presenter(s)
Title of your session: SHORT and CATCHY !
Abstract of the proposed session for inclusion in the program: What are you going to share? (limited to 125 words);
Identify expected target audience of who might want to attend the sessions
60-minute sessions will be the usual length; if you have something special that might require a longer session, please specify this in your proposal.

Overview of Themes for Enhancement Day
Start the day with energizing coffee, morning treats and good conversation around a Preview of Key Strategic Plan Initiatives, including a new set of Integrated Learning Outcomes (relevant to EVERYONE on campus), General Education mission, and a clarified Academic Program Review Council (APRC) process, as well as some early priorities for the strategic plan.
Enhancement Day threads include:
Innovative and creative ideas to transform student learning inside and outside the classroom;
Best practices or models for how to effectively engage the community in student learning;
Learning more about experiential learning, High Impact Practices (HIPs), community-based learning and co-curricular learning opportunities;
Understanding multiple delivery modes for learning (e.g., Distance Learning, flexible programming, modular learning, hybrid learning, cohort models of learning, competency based and certificate options, etc.);
Building programs that transition students from college to careers or advanced education;
Committing to Making Excellence Inclusive (MEI) and supporting a diverse student body and inclusive campus community;
How to build a positive, inclusive, respectful, engaged campus workplace.
