Media Production

Technology Support Services provides a variety of media production services in support of instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. We work closely with faculty members and students in creating instructional media. Contact us through the Technology Helpdesk to request a consultation on your project.

Here are some examples of the kinds of production we provide:

Audio Recording, Editing, CD-ROM production

We no longer offer this as a service, but we have Digital Voice Recorders and USB computer microphones available for loan and can help with converting original recorded examples of speaking into streaming audio and CD formats.

Graphic Design

Designing and producing poster presentations for faculty research presentations; producing graphs, charts and diagrams for presentation in classes; adding graphic appeal to PowerPoint presentations for classes or meetings.

Video Production

Creating DVDs from original Digital 8 tapes for class viewing; converting the same material into streaming media formats. The HWC 1729 Media Lab now has a Sony DVDirect to convert Digital 8mm tapes to DVD. See how the Sony DVDirect works.

Web Design

Creating new and redesigning existing websites. This services is currently available for Departments, Offices, Faculty and Staff on campus.

Media production projects must comply with our Copyright Practices.

Production is provided on a cost-of-materials and labor basis through interdepartmental chargeback, or cash payment by faculty or students for instructional projects. We also do media production work on a cost-of-materials and labor basis for other state agencies under Wisconsin Department of Administration guidelines.
