Advisement Throughout Your Program

You'll have an advisement meeting with your advisor – by phone, e-mail, chat, or in person – before course registration each term.Your advisor will review your progress, and together you'll discuss what needs to be done next to move you toward graduation.

Advisor/Student Roles and Responsibilities

  • The advisors' basic responsibilities include: helping students set academic goals, understand degree requirements, select courses, and determine career expectations.
  • Student responsibilities include: reading the catalog carefully, becoming familiar with their degree programs and its requirements; seeking out answers to their questions; developing self-awareness; following through on advisor recommendations; and accepting ultimate responsibility for their decisions.
