Registration and Courses

Register for Spring Semester Now!
Registration for spring semester is well under way, so make sure to contact your advisor to review your plans and get your "advising hold" removed. This will help ensure that you get the right classes when you need them! Visit the Distance Learning (DL) Spring Class Schedule to see your options.

Summer Session
Check out the DL Summer Class Schedule to see what's coming for summer. Use it to plan summer classes and graduate sooner!

Distance Learning Course Rotation
An updated version of the updated DL Course Rotation will be posted by next week. This planning tool lets you see all the DL courses, and when they are expected to be offered over the next three terms. The new version will show Spring, Summer and Fall for 2014.(Spring and summer listings should match the Class Schedule. A draft version off all offerings will also be included).

UW-Superior subscribes to, which offers tutors 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Tutors are available in a wide variety of subjects. They work in an online classroom in real time.

Most of our campus scholarship opportunities open in the spring. These two are happening sooner than that!

$500 Scholarship for Winning Essay
What does a liberal arts education mean to you? Write a winning essay and earn a $500 scholarship! (In addition, three finalists will be eligible for a $2,000 scholarship). Visit the Writing Center for details. The deadline is December 20. Happy writing!

Darrell and Palchie Asselin Scholarship
This scholarship was created as a memorial to provide financial assistance to non-traditional students in financial need. It is offered through the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. The deadline is January 15.

Student Panelist Opportunity - December 9

The Distance Learning Community of Practice Steering Committee is hosting an on-campus panel of DL students on Monday, December 9, from noon until 1 p.m. Do you live near Superior and want to participate as a student panelist? We have room for up to two additional students. Panelists will share their thoughts and experiences as UW-Superior distance learning students. We will focus on experiences such as: transferring in, getting started, and greatest challenges; and on questions such as: What are we doing well, what could we be doing better, and what advice do you have for faculty or students?

To volunteer to be a panelist, please contact Beth Austin ( or 715-394-8245). The DLC will reimburse student panelists for mileage and lunch.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Please accept our best wishes for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving holiday! UW-Superior and the Distance Learning Center will be closed on November 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will be back, and open for business, on Friday, November 29.
