DL Roundtable Discussion: Managing Time and Expectations in Online Teaching

Posted on Oct 30, 2013

Sponsored by the Distance Learning Community of Practice Steering Committee.

The Distance Learning Community of Practice Steering Committee invites you to a Roundtable Discussion: "Managing Time and Expectations in Online Teaching," facilitated by Scott Smith.

  • Date and Time: Monday, November 4, 12-1 p.m.
  • Location: JDH Library, Room 231

Join us for this round table discussion on distance learning topics! Whether you teach fully online, incorporate D2L in your face-to-face classes, or do some of both, this roundtable is for you! To kick off this year's Community of Practice events, we're gathering to talk about various topics regarding teaching online. As online educators, it's easy to feel isolated and disconnected. This is a chance to engage in discussion with colleagues regarding issues that impact all of us as we continue to teach online.

What are some challenges and solutions to managing online workloads? What are some strategies to establish online availability and create engagement? What are your biggest challenges when teaching online?

This round table discussion will let us engage each other as educators, share
what we've learned, help answer questions, and offer solutions to challenges
we've all faced. It can also serve as a basis for on-going roundtables and
educational opportunities throughout the year, as we uncover additional topics
of interest. Bring your curiosity and questions, and enjoy conversation and collaboration with other online educators!
