"Getting to know and work with campus and community partners has been a highlight of my career," said Nordgren in a recent newsletter to faculty, community and business leaders, and UW-Extension partners. "I thank you all for supporting our outreach goals and participating in our educational programs and community collaborations. You have helped advance our historic mission of providing education, in all its forms, to citizens in our state and region."

Nordgren received his Ph.D. in educational policy and administration from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, an M.S. in media technology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and a B.S. in biology from UW-Superior.

Recently, Hensrud presented a plaque to Nordgren in appreciation of his "vision, leadership, scholarship, and compassion during twenty-seven years of exemplary service to UW-Superior, UW System, and our broad community of lifelong learners."
