Facilities Management

GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

The Grounds Department maintains all parking lots and cares for all grounds on campus, including trimming trees, lawns, flower beds, hedges, and shrubs. The department also clears snow from streets, sidewalks, and parking lots.

LAWN CARE

Crews maintain all the university lawns during the growing season. Litter control and disposal is performed year round. The Grounds Crew mows 31.4 acres of green space and maintains 19.3 acres of athletic fields.

SNOW REMOVAL

Snow and ice removal are prioritized as follows: (1) streets, (2) parking lots, (3) sidewalks, and (4) connecting walkways. Salting and sanding are done on an "as needed" basis. For any questions or to report any problems, please call Ext. 8120. There are 12.6 acres of parking lots and 5.3 miles of sidewalks that the crew remove snow from in the winter months.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Please call us at Ext. 8120 when you schedule an outdoor campus event so that we can provide special attention to the area you plan to use. All outdoor events must first be approved by the Director of Facilities Management and scheduled through University Relations.
