There are eight standards. Would the following terminology work? For a course to use the Academic Service-Learning qualifier, it must meet the following criteria: 1. Clearly demonstrate, within the course syllabus, the four following Academic Service-Learning standards for Quality Practice: Link to Curriculum, Partnership, Meaningful Service and Reflection. 2. Illuminate, within the course syllabus, at-least three of the following four standards for Quality Practice: Duration and Intensity, Progress Monitoring, Diversity and Student Voice. At least half of the course materials approach a subject comparatively across different regions in the world or deal with global or international phenomena that have local implications. 2. The course focuses on the development of skills and abilities needed for meaningful cross-cultural and transnational interactions, active involvement with global issues and cultivation of global citizenship.
